Brazil Butt Lift Day 9 of 35

Day 9 = Cardio Axe + Tummy Tuck

Well I got my groove on again this morning with Cardio Axe. I am finally getting the hang of the International Samba. I would always mess up after the turn. I always ended up moving to the wrong side...but now it's finally sinking in. After I got Axed, I got my tummy tucked OR tortured??? Or a bit of both with the Tummy Tuck workout. It is such a great abs workout. The other day I couldn't remember what the name Leandro used for the one combo. I called it the Beach Body abs drill, it is actually called the Brazilian Bikini Combo. No matter what it's called, it's killer! By doing this though my abs are going to be killer! You can have killer abs too! I know some of you that are sitting there reading this, are looking down and seeing something not so killer around your midsection. The only way it might be killer, is if you used it to smother something with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU DO THAT! It's wrong! And it's a crime. Seriously though...I am not making fun of your larger midsection, I know what that was like...it's not so nice. But I have no sympathy for you if you don't TRY to turn those crime-killer (fl)abs into AWESOME-SUPER-FANTASTIC-KILLER LOOKING ABS. I am doing it, and so can you. Yes, it took me time to get closer and closer to those KILLER ABS, but I will tell you, it was time well spent. And it will definitely be WORTH IT! Because I AM! And so are YOU!
You will not get those KILLER abs from exercise alone though. You MUST stop filling your face with crap food and eat good clean foods. If you only eat hamburgers, try a turkey burger instead. If you say you don't like fish, but you never ever tried it...you don't know what you are missing. You could combine the burger thing, with the fish thing, and eat salmon burgers.  If you can't live without your ice cream fix, try making your own with all natural ingredients. There are recipes and so much more information on this little thing called, the "Internet", you may have heard of it. Check it out. No excuses.  Speaking of food, let's see what I filled my face with today.

Today's food...
Breakfast: Protein Packed Oats with Berries
This one was sort of meal from the Brazil Butt Lift Fat Burning Foods booklet.  It called for Oatmeal.  Not just any kind of oatmeal...well yes, normal oatmeal but you add 1 scoop of low-sugar protein powder to it once it has been cooked.  I don't know how people's have turned out but my was like glue.  The berries were my own addition to this to help thin it out a bit.  They were thawed out frozen raspberries(surprise) so the liquid helped thin the "glue". The BBL meal also included slivered almonds, which I did add.
It was okay.

Snack: Popcorn/Cheese String/Grapefruit
The kids wanted popcorn for first snack today.  I had no problems with that.  I love popcorn!

LOVE IT!

Lunch: Baked Sweet Potato with Turkey, Leeks and Salsa
That's right!  This was SO good at dinner last night, I thought I would make myself another one for lunch.  I had some of the turkey/leeks mixture leftover so it was very easy to put together today.

This would be great to take to work to have on your lunch break.  Bake the sweet potato at home the night before or that same morning.  It only takes about 5 minutes in the microwave.  Cook up some ground turkey, cook up some leeks or onions.  I only used leeks because I had to use them up before they went bad.  Mix the turkey and the leeks/onions together.  It all up at work and then add the salsa OR you can add the salsa in before heating depending on how you like to eat your salsa, hot or cold.  Enjoy!

Snack: Cottage Cheese and Green Grapes
Uh oh!  I have taken' a liking to cottage cheese now.  But that's a good thing right?  I don't think I could eat just a bowl full of it with nothing mixed into it.  Like today I had it with some lovely green grapes...

Delicious!

Dinner: Roasted Garlic & Butternut Squash Soup/Turkey Barley Pilaf
At first I was just going to eat some of the leftover Pilaf and then I remembered that I had some of this soup down in the freezer.  I know...Who could eat soup on such a hot day like today was and still is???  ME!

So it started as soup...

...and a bowl full of Turkey Barley Pilaf.
And then...

...they became ONE.
That was so good.  It was only a half serving of the pilaf into a full serving of soup, which is only 1 cup.  I will definitely pair these two up again.

After Dinner Snack: Hummus and Carrot Sticks

I just had this little snack while writing this piece.

I can't believe that tomorrow is August 1st ALREADY!  Where the hell did July go?  I start the month of August off by shaking my booty in tomorrow's Bum Bum workout.  I may sleep in a little and then shake it! OR I may get some other Cardio in, like maybe go for a Spin.  See how the night goes.  See if my children can stay in their own beds until the morning.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Brazil Butt Lift Day 8 of 35

Day 8 = Bum Bum + C25K

My husband told me last night that he was taking today off work to have a "ME Day"...not me as in ME, but rather ME as in HIM. He had some errands that needed to be done during most normal daytime work hours. The same hours he is usually at work. Anyways, since he was home this morning still in bed when my alarm sounded at 5:30am, I got up, went downstairs and did my Bum Bum workout. I then had time to spare and the light bulb went on. "You could go for a run", the light bulb proclaimed. "Yes, I could", I thought. And I did. It felt great to be out running so early in the morning, it's too bad my husband couldn't take more "ME DAYS".

The run was a bit tougher this morning as it followed my Bum Bum workout. My legs were already tired so I did take the one walking break in between the running intervals.  The rate I am going with the C25K, I may get it done by the time I started. LOL I have run the 5K as you already know if you have been following, but I just thought I would go through the motions of this program when I get the chance to get out.  It's also nice to change things up a bit in your workout routines.  I am going to try and get out again on Thursday of this week, as the BBL program calendar calls for a Rest Day on that day...WHAT!?!?!?...Rest Day in the middle of the week.  I'm thinking, if you were a couch potato just starting with this program, you will need this day of rest.  But NOT I...there's no rest for the wicked!  And when I say WICKED, I mean I have a WICKED body to show for all my hard work.  Okay, Okay...so I am not quite to that status yet...BUTT I WILL BE SOON! LOL  Positive thinking, it's the only way to reach your goals.

I am getting the hang of the Capoeira move. Remember I spoke of this last week and Leandro's version of this move is KILLER. The other times through, I had to break or come up higher out of the move, but not today. I was right there with Leandro and his girls.  Each time I do the Capoeira, I get better and better.  Stronger and stronger.  What I have found difficult while learning the moves is to squeeze my butt as I lift, move, lunge, jump or shake.  I guess I am concentrating on the knowing how they are moving and I always have to remind myself to squeeze my butt.  And I don't mean with my hands.  Squeeze the muscles to help eliminate the fat.  SQUEEZE, SQUEEZE, SQUEEZE!

Today's food...
Breakfast: Brazilian Breakfast Shake

This is from the Brazil Butt Lift Fat-Burning Foods booklet that came with the program.  It was made with blueberries...not my favourite...so it was okay.  I'm sure if you are a blueberry lover, you will like it.

Snack: Strawberries and Cottage Cheese/Honey Candy
I am now getting used to the cottage cheese eating.  I really enjoyed this today with the strawberries.

Lunch: Salmon with a Salad
There is nothing more to say with this one.

LOVE IT!

Snack: Greek Yogurt with Grapefruit

It looks good, but I do not recommend this combination.  This one is just something I came up with this afternoon.  It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the greatest.  Save your grapefruit for the Spiced Broiled Grapefruit...yum!

Dinner: Baked Sweet Potato Topped with Ground Turkey, Leeks and Salsa
I got this idea from one of the fitness models in Oxygen.  In the magazine it discussed the changes the fitness model has seen in her body.  She had gained  a lot of lean muscle coming from all the lean protein she was eating.  This was listed as one of her favorite muscle foods.

This was really good!  I would eat it again tomorrow night as well.

There was a comment left on my blog today that really made me smile.  Don't get me wrong, they all make me smile.  But this particular one, I was flattered by it.  A reader of my blog was inspired to start up her own blog and talk about her journey just as I have been doing.  I read her blog and blushed at the part where she talks about ME.  It made me feel wonderful, knowing that I could help make a positive difference in a complete stranger's life.  I have added her blog to my blog reading list at the side of this post.  Please check it out and be another support system for her.  We all need a rock solid support system to help us Stay Strong.  Thanks amilynn342 for making me smile.

I will be getting the ol' Axe and Tuck tomorrow, so I better get my A$$  tucked into bed soon.

I will talk to you again tomorrow.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Brazil Butt Lift Day 7 of 35

Day 7 = Rest Day

Well today’s Rest Day actually turned into a REST DAY, with a little bit of work here and there.

I like when my HRM is in sync with my life.

Didn’t do anything too exciting, with the exception of talking to a friend of mine about starting Jillian Michaels Body Revolution.  I know this blog post should be about the Brazil Butt Lift, but I am just so excited that my friend has decided to start the 90-day workout program of Body Revolution.  It doesn’t matter which workout program you choose to start with, the important thing is STARTING.  Since I am not getting paid by Jillian Michaels, RushFit or Leandro Carvalho from Brazil Butt Lift, (although I seriously think I should be) I can talk about any of their programs no matter what the title of today’s post is.
I told you about my friend and her daughter that were starting Body Revolution back in May.  Well they have had awesome results.  They are a few weeks shy of finishing the program, but so far they have done fantastic!  Congratulations!  They both have lost about 19 pounds and feeling great!  Since they are past the Phase 1 and Phase 2 parts of the program, I loaned my Body Revolution program out to my other friend today.  The timing is perfect, she is planning on starting on the 6th of August and she will be done the first phase one week after I complete the Brazil Butt Lift.  I am planning on redoing Body Revolution on Monday September 4th.  We had talked about it a while ago and now she is ready to START.  Way to go L! (<<<I told her I wouldn’t use her name)  After going over the books with her and talking a little about the program, I emphasized how important it is for her to take "Before" pictures, along with measurements.  And like most of us, she did not want to get her picture taken.  Cameras don't lie.  I know from seeing pictures of myself, I didn't like what I saw.  I knew something had to be done and that's when I began my journey to a healthier version of ME.  Even though we don't like what we see, it really helps to keep you motivated to reach yours goals.  "So come on "L", get those pictures taken and stick them in your Stay Strong Notebook" along with your body measurements".

Today's food...
Breakfast: High Fiber Cereal with Berries & Almonds

This was super delicious with the raspberries and almonds...yum.

Snack: Banana Blueberry Muffin
I split the muffin with my little girl.  Even though my breakfast was delicious, it wasn't quite enough to fill me up.

Lunch: Turkey Hummus Wrap
This meal is one from the suggested meals from the Brazil Butt Lift program.  I used some of the hummus I made last week and it was quite nice.
In the first picture, the rest of the wrap is waiting on the turkey breast to be grilled...

And this is the finished meal ready to be eaten.
But as my son pointed out, "Don't eat the toothpick, Mummy".

Snack: A Phat Healthy Bar

Dinner: Turkey Barley Pilaf
I had planned on making grilled chicken and broccoli tonight for dinner, but as the day went on, dinner time came around very quickly and I wasn't sure if I wanted to make what I had planned.  I started to clean the fridge out and found some onions that needed to be used up.  I chopped them up and decided to through them into the pan to cook them up.  Then I found some mushrooms and threw them in with the onions.  Still thinking to myself, "What am I going to make?"  Then the light bulb went on...I had left over turkey from lunch, so I decided to make my Turkey Barley Pilaf.

My family LOVES this dish.  I'm so glad.

Okay, so the reason why the time moved by quickly, and dinner time was there all of a sudden, is because I was FINALLY finishing up the organizing of my baking supply cupboards.  I know, I know I showed you that ages ago.  Well I had to wait to buy some refills for my label making machine and find the time to do it.  Today was that day.  With this, I am going to update you on the Chocolate eating status of this, meaning ME, Chocoholic.  I told you all last week that I would not be eating chocolate for 5 weeks, with the exception of my birthday.  I am still on track, and the only chocolate that I had on my birthday was the chocolate sauce and the crust, on the Billy Miner's Pie.  I have been so good...very good...exceptionally good this week.

Take a look what I had to do today...

I had it in my hands.  Just the glass and the lid between me and my love...chocolate.
I was strong, I wasn't even tempted to tell you the truth.  I labelled it and placed it back in the cupboard.

So this is what the cupboard looked like when I first organized it...

Nice, eh?
And this is what it looks like now...

 Even better!!!
All labelled and ready to use.

Get organized and you will be on your way to a healthier version of YOU too.
Get rid of the crap food, and replace it with the good stuff.  Fill your cupboards with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, flours and spices so that YOU can make the good food.  Make your own muffins, bars and other great meals and snacks.

Tonight after putting the kids to bed, I made the mistake of coming upstairs to write my blog post for today.  My husband decided he wanted to watch Bridgette Jones' Diary, one of my favorite movies and it has taken me much longer to write this tonight.  Plus I can't seem to concentrate very well.  My favorite line in this movie is, "He's just a big knob head, with no knob"...followed by..."Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!"  LOVE IT!

Anyway, I will say good night and shut the movie off and get my lifted butt in bed.  Another round of Bum Bum in the morning with Leandro.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Trina

P.S. If you are wondering when a good time to start YOUR journey to a healthier version of YOU is???  TODAY is the day you should begin that journey.  Don't wait till tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes.  Have you heard that saying before?  Start right now.  Make your plan, take your pictures and write down your measurements and then start working out.  Stay Strong! and you will succeed!  Don't freak out over your measurements or your pictures...Keep Calm and Stay Strong...before you know it those measurements will be history.  And the pictures, well they will be a great reminder of how far you have come.  You will be great, you just have to START!

Brazil Butt Lift Day 6 of 35

Day 6 = Bum Bum

This is when I started my day...

Ughhh...I don't like sleeping in on weekends.  I guess my body needed to sleep until this time though.  Sleep is SO important to your health and to reach your fitness goals.  I find it has been tougher since the warmer weather rolled in in the spring, to get to bed early.  I am busy doing things, going places and enjoying time with my family and the days just sometime slip away.  Like today for instance...I woke up late, did my workout and ate my breakfast at about 11:15am.  Totally missed my morning snack, had a late lunch, grabbed an afternoon snack and then we went out shopping.  After picking up groceries, we got home late and had a late dinner.  And now it's late and I should be in bed...BUT...I wanted to share today with you.

The Bum Bum workout WORKS!  I can feel it in my legs and butt and a little in my abs.  Today I decided to wear my running shoes instead of bare feet.  Because the moves in this workout are a little more structured than in Cardio Axe, I thought it would help with my balance and form.  And they did!  I felt a little more stable with the lunges and squats, because they are done at a quicker tempo than the other workout programs I have done.  It is totally up to you on what you wear to workout in.  As long as it's practical and comfortable.

I took a picture of my abs today to show you that hard work does pay off, and that more work is needed to be done...

The ripple above my belly button is FAT, and that FAT must be shredded.  My abs must go from FAT & FLAB to PHAT and FAB.  I know there is a six pack in there somewhere.  I WILL find it and show it to you all.  I am not showing off in any way, but rather, showing you what hard work and determination can do for your body, and for your mind.  When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good about yourself, you look even better.  And I'm telling you now, I am feeling GREAT!   It doesn't happen over night, but as I said, sleep is SO important, and some transformation will happen through the night, but not just one night.

Here is one 6 Pack that can be bought to help you get your six pack...
It's the 6 Pack Fitness cooler bag.
It will help you travel with all your healthy foods so you have no excuses to eat crap while you are on the go.  This is the smaller cooler bag, the Duras 300, but it's not small by any means.  It comes with 2 gel packs, 3 meal containers and a top tray for bars and supplements(or whatever you want to put in there).
There are two side pockets for your water bottles and shakes.  A larger bag is available as well, the Duras 500...check out the website for more information http://www.sixpackbags.com/ I plan on taking this with me at holiday time in August.  Order online, or if you live in the Kitchener/Waterloo area, you can find them at Popeye's Supplements Waterloo.

I noticed on facebook today that a friend of mine, Cassandra, also got herself a 6 Pack Fitness cooler bag.  She got the one with the pink trim(I'm a bit jealous).  So cool!  LOVE IT!

Today's food...
Breakfast:   Green and White Omelet with Salsa

This one is very similar to the omelet I had the other day.  The BBL meal plan called for 1 slice of toast, but I did not want to eat it, as I have been trying to stay clear of bread this past week.

Lunch: Grilled Salmon with Asparagus and Tomato

I added a little Pesto Parmesan Salad Dressing to the asparagus...Yum!

Snack: Sweet Potato Crisps/Phat Healthy Bar/Peach Smoothie
While were still at home I tried to fill in for the missed morning snack.  I grabbed a bag of sweet potato crisps that I made and my daughter and I shared it.  Sharing one of these servings is not much, so I decided to have one of my Phat Healthy Bars.  I ate half of it before we went out, and the other when we came back.

There was WAY too much sugar in that smoothie but it was refreshing.

Dinner: Grilled Sole served with Peaches and Cream Corn on the Cob and Snap Peas

The corn was really good tonight.
The last time we had corn it was rather tasteless, but tonight's corn was perfect.
Well that concludes my day of food.  Tomorrow is Rest Day, which really translates to WORK MY A$$ OFF DAY.  I think I will change my name to Cinderella.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Brazil Butt Lift Day 5 of 35

Day 5 = Cardio Axe + Tummy Tuck

Sounds brutal, doesn’t it??  An axe plus a tuck.  Ouch!  No surgery required just hard work.  That is the answer.  You can lose those pounds and tighten your body by putting your mind to it, and putting in the time to work hard and take care of yourself through eating right and exercise.  So do it!  Don’t sit there and wish to win the lottery so that you can booked in for liposuction…it’s not going to happen.  If you win the lottery use some of that money to build a home gym or join a fitness club, get a personal trainer.  Heck if you win enough, you can get ME a personal trainer too…LOL.  Seriously though, use your money wisely and use your own body to make the changes, not a surgeon’s knife.  That is NOT the answer.  The reason I mention this is because I have seen posts through www.MyFitnessPal.com where people have talked about getting certain surgeries that would help with weight loss.  I don’t mean people that are 100+ lbs overweight talking about this.  I’m talking about people that only need to lose 20+ lbs or that want to get rid of that lower ab flab, saddlebags or to LIFT that BUTT.

Too many people stress out over the last 10 lbs, they always want a quick fix...there is no such thing.  Keep working hard and it too will drop off.  Keep Calm and Stay Strong!

I am SURE that you are going to feel much better knowing that YOU are the one that sculpted this new body of yours.  It’s that feeling of accomplishment.  I guarantee that you will look in the mirror and admire your work and say, "I did this!"   You should be proud.
Getting back to the Axe part of my day...Cardio Axe is approximately 28 minutes long.  Twenty-eight minutes of shaking your booty and working your Abs.  The twisting and the hips circles are great for toning your Abs.  With the abs getting a workout in Cardio Axe, today was followed up by Tummy Tuck.  Just when I was thinking my abs were SO conditioned, Leandro comes along and causes me pain.  A pain that I can handle though.  Tummy Tuck is about 19 minutes long.  It is a great abs workout.  I will let you know tomorrow how my abs are feeling.  The Beach Body abs drill was probably the toughest part of this workout.  I will go through and explain the moves next time I do the Tummy Tuck workout.

After I completed both the BBL workouts, I had some time to spare so I did a 20 minute Belly dance workout that I have.  I didn't log it in my journal, as I only burned about 60 calories.  I was in the dancing mood, so I went from Brazil to India.

So no real axes or knives, you just have to get up and move your body.  Whether you choose cardio or weights, or better yet a combination of both...just do something to improve your health and fitness.  You will love the results!
Today’s food…
Breakfast: High Fiber Cereal with Skim Milk and Low Sugar Protein Powder
I got my daily fiber intake and some from this meal alone.

Snack: Raspberries with Slivered Almonds
I was supposed to have Blueberries and almonds, but I change it to raspberries of course.

Lunch: Grilled Shrimp Salad/Clean Carrot Cake
Last night’s leftovers became today’s lunch.  I saved the asparagus for another meal.

There was one last piece of the Clean Carrot Cake that I made yesterday.  Now we didn’t eat the whole cake…I frozen half of it to save for another week.

Snack: Dragon Fruit and Watermelon with  5 Almonds

Dinner: Broccoli and Sole
While I was supposed to have Tofu and Broccoli, I traded the Tofu for Sole instead.  I’m not a huge fan of Tofu and I had the leftover Sole fillets that needed to be eaten.

Another great day of really good CLEAN food.

I need to get to bed now because my legs are getting all fidgety and I can't sit still any longer.  I need to rest.  I am going to try and get out for a run tomorrow as well as the Bum Bum workout that I have scheduled.
Until then…Stay Strong!

Good night
