Day 63 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 63 = Rest Day

I'm pretty tired for a Rest Day, especially when I had an extra hour of sleep last night.  Extra hour...ha...that's a joke.  I went to bed before the rest of my family did and then woken up about 20 minutes later by my son wanting me to tickle his back so he could get to sleep.  That didn't happen.  I fell back to sleep only to be woken up by my daughter crying in the middle of the night.  I went into her room to calm her down so we both could get back to sleep.  So...so much for my extra hour of sleep.  This morning I woke up feeling like I was going to be sick to my stomach...don't worry it didn't happen, so no icky details to be talked about.  However, with feeling this way, I didn't feel like eating anything before I had to head out the door to the show I had booked for Maus Wear.  I already had the car packed up and ready to go, so I just had to get my butt in there as well.  I was going to pack up my 6 Pack Fitness Bag with some food for the day, but I couldn't stomach doing so.  I knew I needed to eat something, so I grabbed the bag of Pumpkin Protein Bars I had in the freezer and threw them in my bag.  Filled up my Kleen Kanteen with water and I was ready to go.

Even though it was my rest day, I got quite the workout setting up for the show.  Walking, carrying totes full of Maus Wear product, setting up the wire racking and then filling the racks.  Then it was all done again at the end of the show but only in reverse.
In addition to Maus Wear products, I also set up a display of Soy based Candles that I sell.  Those suckers are heavy in the totes.  I always wish that I would sell them ALL at the shows so I don't have to pack them up and carry them out again.  Wishful thinking.  No rest for the WICKED though. LOL

Once I got home, I was tired and hungry, but we still needed to pick up a few groceries for the week.  Ughhh!  I was planning on making Spaghetti Squash again tonight for dinner, so while putting the groceries away I cooked up the onions, mushrooms and ground turkey.  I had already baked the squash so that saved me some time.
It was so SO good, yet again.

I do find that after eating this, that I am still hungry.  I grabbed for an apple, the last Coconut Banana Bonbon, a Mum Mum Snax-Apple Cinnamon Rice Cracker pack(I bought these for the daycare snacks, thought I would try one first, very nice) and I robbed my son's Halloween loot, no not chocolate, but rather a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.  I topped this after dinner snack off with a cup of David's Tea, Banana Dream Pie...yum!

Well I think I will try and grab that extra hour of sleep now.  The kids are asleep, hopefully for the night, and I am done for the day.  Tomorrow it's back to Workout 9 in the morning and I am going to TRY and get in another run tomorrow evening.  Key word is TRY.  We have lots of things going on this week, so I hope it happens for me tomorrow night.  My legs feel awesome after yesterday's run.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 62 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 62 = Cardio 3

Well that didn't happen today...

Instead I went for a run.  The sun was out, and it was calling my name.  I turned on my music and hit the trail running.  As I was running I couldn't help but think about the Tough Mudder next May in Toronto.  The place where I was running had dirt, mud, water and not to mention it was chilly out this morning.  I have yet to reach 100 followers on my blog, and 200 LIKEs on my Facebook page.  The price to register for the event goes up next Thursday.  Do you think it's possible to reach my goals by then?

After returning from my 5K run, I helped my son tidy up his room and then we were off and out for a couple hours.  I have been hearing and seeing a lot about David's Tea on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and I wanted to check it out for myself.  Last week when we took our son to his acting lesson Uptown Waterloo, I noticed there was a David's Tea there.  So today was the day I was going to check it out.  I am not a coffee drinker and not really a tea drinker, but I thought it sounds interesting.  In the colder months I have always chosen to drink Hot Chocolate to warm up on a cold day.  Not this winter, I have now become a tea drinker.

At David's Tea, they have a HUGE selection of a HUGE variety of loose tea blends.  From an Earl Grey to Mango Madness to Banana Dream Pie...and many many more.  With my husband being from England, he has always been a tea drinker pretty much all his life.  Since this was our first time into the shop, I really didn't know what to expect so it was fun checking out all the different things David's had to offer.  I didn't have anything at home to brew the loose tea so I bought a tea mug with infuser and lid, well actually two of them.  One for me and one for my husband.  This way we can each enjoy the different teas that we both picked out.
I love honey and they had these Lemon/Honey Sticks to add to your tea...yummy.
My husband picked out English Breakfast.  "It's a flowery pekoe blend from Sri Lanka, it is the ultimate in English breakfasts.  It's full-bodied and full of flavour."
That is the description in the Tea Menu Winter 2012/13.
I on the other hand picked out 3 different blends.
First a Flavoured Green Tea...Organic Detox.  Something to help get rid of any of the Halloween treats that I have taken part in eating.  Secondly, "A cool and creamy blend pairs apple and coconut with a touch of peppermint, for the perfect after dinner treat.  Caffeine free."...Cocomint Cream.
And last and certainly not least...Banana Dream Pie.  This one here is..."Sweet banana, creamy white chocolate, cocoa nibs-with a black tea this decadent, who needs dessert?"  Certainly not me.  This one here is really good.  Both the Banana Dream Pie and the Cocomint Cream are part of David's Winter Teas.  I will have to stock up on the Banana one before winter is over.  This was my first trip to David's Tea, and certainly not my last.  As Arnold says, "I'll be back!"

Here is my little helper...
She insisted on carrying the bag.  With the two mugs in the bag along with all the other stuff, it was kind of heavy for her, but she insisted.  LOL

Once we returned home, I washed my new mug and put the water onto boil.  I first tried the Cocomint Cream with a touch of honey.  After dinner, I brewed myself up a cup of Banana Dream Pie.  So very nice!

I wasn't going to write a post today because the day just got away from me, but I wanted to share my experience of my trip to David's Tea shop with you.  Tonight I packed up Maus Wear and got it ready for the KW Mom Show & Handmade Fair tomorrow at the Holiday Inn in Kitchener, Ontario.  It runs from 10am-4pm.  If you live in the area, come to the show and check it out and don't forget to stop by the Maus Wear both and say "Hi".  Hope to see you there.  Even though we turned our clocks back an hour tonight, I am going to bed so that I am not tired tomorrow at the show.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 61 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 61 = Workout 10

Just over 2/3 of the way there.  Less than a month to go with my second round of Body Revolution.  It has been very different from my first round that's for sure.  I only really followed Jillian's Kickstart meal plan during the first week and then did my own thing for the rest of the time.  I still ate CLEAN with a few exceptions here and there.  What is different???  That nasty month long cold that I had...It SUCKED!  BIG TIME!  It drained me of my energy and it ate away at...NO not my fat...that would have been nice...It ate away at my motivation.  Don't worry though, it did NOT get the best of me.  My motivation is a thick as my fat WAS...so I have a lot of it.  I stuck with my workouts each day with a couple exceptions there too.  So rest if you are ill, but don't let it become an excuse.  I know how hard it is to get back to it, but you MUST do it.  You will be glad you did.  Yes the first few days will be rough, but they will be worth it.  I have been telling you the last couple days about how sore my butt was, still is.  I thought it was from the start of Phase 3.  Well it was AND from getting back in the saddle of my spinning bike.  I forgot that I got back on the bike the end of last week.  I may swap out Cardio 3 tomorrow for a spin...OR maybe I will do both!  That sounds like a good plan.  If you get bored of what ever your workout routine is, changed it up.  Sometimes boredom is why many people just stop.  And we all know that STOPPING is not an option.  RIGHT?

Today's food...
Breakfast: Phat's Phrench Pita Toast
Phrench as in French...just in case you were wondering.  I felt like having some French Toast this morning, but no bread to be found.  I had some whole wheat pita bread on hand, so I improvised as I do.

I made it the same as I would French Toast.  I used 1 pita bread cut into 4 triangles, 2 egg whites, 1 tsp cinnamon, once cooked topped with a tablespoon of warmed up honey.
It was okay, it was a bit on the dry side.  I should have let the pita soak longer in the egg whites.

Snack: Guacamole and Garlic Baked Pita Chips

Lunch: Pea Soup and Egg Salad Sandwich
I ate the leftover soup from last night's dinner and whipped up some egg salad for sandwiches for the daycare kids.  I haven't had one since the summer time, so I thought I would join them.

I found a loaf of bread in the daycare fridge...SCORE!

Dinner: More Soup, Cream of Broccoli...and another Egg Salad Sandwich
It's the colder weather that is setting in, it is making me eat more comfort food.  Soup, soup and more soup.  I have to have a weekend of soup making I think.

Snack:  I did have a few Halloween treats that my kids offered to share with me.  My daughter was eating something and she said, "Oh you have to try these, they are so good!"  Too funny, I'm sure she thinks all of her treats taste so good.  As good as I have been, it's hard to resist not so good goodies when an excited 4 year old tells you to try it.  And my son offered me all of his Coffee Crisp candy bars.  I took one and let him keep the rest.  He likes them as much as I do/did.  My daughter made me laugh when wanting to try the gum that she got.  She put some in her mouth, chewed it for a few seconds and then threw it in the garbage.  She then put another bit in her mouth and did the same thing, threw it in the garbage.  She's so funny.

Tomorrow it's back to Cardio 3.  I can work off those sweet unclean treats that I got from my little ones.  I definitely feel like I want to get on the bike in the morning, or maybe a run would be nice too.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 60 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 60 = Workout 9

Today started off in rather a gross and disgusting way.  Without getting into too much detail, I DID NOT get my workout done this morning as I had to clean up the result of a Pirate eating too much candy last night, and still not feeling well from the other day.  My son didn't go to school on Monday because he was ill.  He seemed to be fine Tuesday and yesterday, Halloween...so he went to school and Trick or Treating.  Once he returned home he dived into his treasures as you saw in the post last night.  I didn't think he really ate that much, but I guess it was just too much, too late and too much excitement.

It was a crazy day in the daycare today too.  No sicknesses, just craziness.  After the kids had all gone home, I managed to get Workout 9 completed.  I pushed it a little harder today then I did on Monday.  I must say again though that Workout 10 really did a number on my backside because it is STILL screaming again today.  Tomorrow it will probably stop as I repeat the workout again.  We shall see what happens.  I am feeling sore in my upper body again now too.  This is all good.  I know that my body is starting to change again.  Throughout the summer I some days where my muscles were sore, but not like this.  If you are just starting out on your journey with clean food and exercise, DON'T let these days of soreness stop you.  You are not hurt, your body is changing for the better.  The soreness will pass and you will become stronger.  Then push yourself a little more, the soreness will return.  Again, DO NOT STOP!  Keep going and you will see how strong you can be.  Mind and Body.

So over the last month or so, I have been changing up my blog by adding more pages as well as some ads.  I  have since become an affiliate of the companies that you see appearing on my blog.  Well today I hooked up with Vans and when my daughter saw the links that I could pick from to post...she FREAKED when she saw Hello Kitty.  For her, I had to add it to the top of the column.  LOL  She told me I had to paint her room in Hello Kitty...this weekend...ah, that's not happening.  Not this weekend anyway.

I hope that you are enjoying the new look of my blog.  The other day I added a few more recipes to "Cook with Me".  I wanted to make up some Rice Krispie Squares but I want to use MY marshmallows instead of store bought ones.  So the CLEANED UP marshmallow recipe was added to the page.  I have yet to make them.  Right now there are too many sweets in the house as it is.  I know that mine would be healthier, but Halloween is a time for kids to be kids and get this great haul of FREE candy.  They get their exercise while out collecting all the treats, and if your kids are like my kids, they don't like half of the stuff they get.  Plus, I have already thrown out some of the lollipops that they both got.  They don't chew gum, so that will be gone too.  All the things with peanut butter in it has been taken away and my husband is enjoying it.  I even broke down for a couple Reese Peanut Butter Cups.  Even the best of us get weak sometimes.  LOL    If you have indulged into too much Halloween candy, don't get down, just get busy and work it off.

So I contacted Color Me Rad http://www.colormerad.com/ to see if they would be having an event in Ontario Canada next year.  They said that they were planning on it and that the 2013 calendar will be posted soon.  Who's with me?  Check out the website http://www.colormerad.com/ and let me know.  I am going to add it to my "Events with Me" page with the date to be announced.  It should be FUN!!!!

                          AWESOME!!!!!!

It's November now, and while the stores have already started displaying Christmas decorations(even before Halloween), I have bigger things to think about.

My son's 7th Birthday party.

Wow!  I can't believe he is going to be 7 years old already.  Time sure does go by quickly.  It's been a crazy, fun, frustrating, memorable, loving, crazy(did I say that already), exciting, proud 7 years.

I did eat today, but didn't really take pictures.  After my rough start to the day, taking pictures of food was not really on my mind.  Let's hope tomorrow is a better day for all.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night
