Day 53 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 53 = Workout 7

Last time for this one.  Or is it????  I remember when I did Body Revolution the first time, once I reached the last half of Phase 3, I got a bit bored of the last two workouts...ONLY because you do Workouts 11 & 12 for 3 weeks.  This time around I think I will mix it up a bit and pick out my favourites for my last week.

I can't believe that I will be done with Phase 2 on Saturday and getting ready to move on to the next and final Phase.  It goes by so quickly.

I wrote the above early this morning, it is now late at night and I am spent. I got out all my Halloween decorations, and if you know me personally, you know that that would make anyone tired. I have been going through them and throwing some crap away, setting some stuff up, and the rest my brother is going to borrow it for a friend's party. Anyway, I am going to bed now and I will post some decorating pictures tomorrow.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 52 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 52 = Cardio 2

I was contemplating on spinning this morning, but I stuck with Cardio 2 instead.  I think I need to get back into running again.  I felt strong when I was running.  My legs felt like they could carry me on and on.  Kind of like Forrest Gump, I could just keep running.  I know that all my strength training is making my legs stronger, but they just don't feel the same as they did when I was running in the spring.  It's like my body is going into hibernation for the winter or something.  The set back from that cold didn't help much either.  It was the same last fall too, September/October I was tired and hit a plateau.  This may happen to you too and you know what, it's natural for our bodies to want and need a break...and that's okay.  It's okay, as long as you don't turn that break into a full fledged stop.  That's not good.  A break is all it needs.  Whether it's cutting back on your workouts a bit or eating a few more calories in your day.  If you count calories and/or keep a journal...stop for a bit, but just make sure you don't over indulge.  I'm talking a break of about 1 week, NOT 1 month.  After that week is over you will be refocused and have a fresh start.  Yes, that first day may be the toughest but you can do it.

You are stronger now and you know what you need to do to continue on your journey to A Healthier Version of You.  You, YOU, YOU, it's all about YOU!  You are the important one in your life...remember that.

Today's food...
Breakfast: Greek Yogurt with Cinnamon & Almonds

Lunch: Roast Beef, Sweet Potato, Cauliflower Mash, Onions and Peas & Corn
Left overs from dinner last night, and some.  I added some Sweet Potato and Peas and Corn.

A totally CLEAN meal.                               A totally delicious meal.

Snack: Brown Bag Popcorn
Plain and simple but with a little added coconut oil.  No more store bought microwave popcorn for this house.  Simply put some popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag and hit the "Popcorn" button on your microwave.  But keep an eye on it.  When the kernels start to slow down in the popping action, stop the microwave so they don't burn.  I will add some directions to "Cook with Me" another day.

Dinner: Spaghetti Squash with Turkey Meat Sauce
This was the first time I have ever made Spaghetti Squash, but definitely NOT the last time.  I baked the squash yesterday and placed it in a container in the fridge.  First I cooked up the Ground Turkey, added some dehydrated onions along with a little Herb & Garlic Sea Salt.

Once it was browned, I added the mushroom tomato sauce that I had on hand in the house(store bought).  I then tossed in the Spaghetti Squash to heat up.  I heated it on medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, then served it up.
I didn't tell my children what it was exactly, I just said it was Turkey in a tomato sauce.  My son is not a big fan of pasta, so I didn't want to tell him that it was spaghetti.  They both moaned a bit about having to eat it, but then my son whispered in my ear, "I kind of like it".  Too funny.  My daughter is usually the more adventurous one out of the two of them when it comes to trying different things, but she barely touched hers. She did eat some in the end as we had to get out the door to go to swimming.  I enjoyed it very much and would definitely eat it again...that would be tomorrow for lunch most likely.  My husband liked it too, but he is not a HUGE fan of tomato sauce, so I am going to look for other ways to prepare the Spaghetti Squash.

Go ahead and try it for yourself if you have never had it.  I found another recipe for a Sweet recipe for using the squash.  I got it through Facebook via Amy Ecd.  It's a Creamy Cinnamon Spaghetti Squash recipe.  I need to get some supplies before I make this one.  The recipe can be found at http://www.eatcleandiet.com/the_kitchen_table/recipe/recipe.aspx?id=2445 I will let you know how it is once I make it.  UNLESS...you make it before me, let me, and every one else know how it is.

I mentioned that we had to go out to our kid's swimming lessons tonight, well what a difference a year makes.  Last year in the fall my son didn't want to let go of the side of the pool.  This fall...he is jumping in, doing front floats, back floats and LOVING IT!  I got a bit teary eyed tonight watching him.  he has come a long way and his confidence has really increased in the water.  I'm so proud of him.
And let's not forget about my little girl.  Last fall she screamed and clung on to me for dear life.  This fall, she too is doing so well.  Dunking her head right under the water, front floats, blowing bubbles in the water and she too is LOVING IT!  They both have put the UMPH in Triumph.  LOVE IT!  I knew they could do it, they are both strong bodies and are willing to learn.  Last fall that was a little hard to believe(when the screaming was going on), but I believed in them, and they showed me what they are made of.  Keep trying and you will succeed.

I will keep trying in the morning with my own workouts and I know that I will succeed too.  I will be stronger for me, and continue to set a good example for my children.  Back to Workout 7 in the AM.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 51 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 51 = Workout 8

The cat(different one this time) strikes again(but not on me).

Again I was enjoying my sleep and then I heard it.  The cries of the wild little girl in my house.  Before I could get out of bed she was in our room nestled right into my neck.  I heard her say that Soc, our littlest cat(who is not so little anymore) scratched her.  I asked her this morning where did the cat scratch her, she replied, "Soc didn't scratch me".  Then she made up a place on her head. Oh children!  With her snuggled into me like she was and I could here the rain outside, it made it difficult to drag my butt out of bed.  Then I thought, my butt NEEDS to get out of bed and get worked.

And that's what I did.  I hit Workout 8 of Body Revolution, and pushed it.  Jillian states in this one, as she does in other workouts too, "Even though you feel pain, you're not going to die".  There have been some days lately where I don't believe her.  With having those lower energy levels during that cold, it did feel like I was going to die.  But as you can read, I did not.  Even though I didn't feel like I grew stronger, I did.  Because I got rid of the cold and energy levels are climbing back up.  Eating the right foods, and drinking plenty of water, will help this get right back to normal.

After I survived Workout 8(I don't find it that hard), I did my Butt & Bicep Workout.  This time I added some more moves to my little workout.  Added more Dead Lifts, A LOT MORE!  My backside will thank me tomorrow.

It was a dreary wet day here in Waterloo, ON Canada.  Here I am dressed ready to head to school bus stop to get the kids...

I forgotten that my son had fallen into the puddle the other day.  His boot were soaked.  What's a mum to do a half an hour before her son has to leave for the bus???  Get the hair dryer out!

It worked like a charm.  He had warm and dry boots to wear.

Mum to the rescue.

Today's food...
Breakfast: Egg Whites, Turkey Sausage and Salsa

                                                                  Yes...AGAIN!
This time I changed it up by cutting the sausages.  LOL  Not that I ate the other ones whole.

Lunch: Chicken and Salsa served with a Salad
I wanted to turn this into a Chicken Parmesan, but I didn't have any cheese in the house.

It was still quite nice just the way it was.

Dinner: Roast Beef, Onions and Cauliflower Mash with Gravy
I made this in the crock pot and it was SO good.  The beef just fell apart.

This was all part of my planning for the week.  Tomorrow I will have some of this for my lunch.  Tomorrow night I will be making Spaghetti Squash with a Ground Turkey Meat Sauce.  It will be the first time for making and eating Spaghetti Squash.  I'll let you know how that goes.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Day 50 of Round 2 Body Revolution

Day 50 = Workout 7

Well I had quite the wake up call this morning.  And at 4:30am too.  I was lying there in bed, no children using me as a foot stool, enjoying my sleep time, when all of a sudden I felt the sharp dagger like claws attacking my left eye.  What The F___?!?!?!?!?

Our cat Indy(Indiana Jones) scratched my eyelid and just below my eye.  He must have been sleeping very close to me and got startled by something, he then decided to use my face as a scratching post then ran off.  I sat up, grabbed a tissue and held it up to my eye.  I thought I was bleeding from my eye.  I made my way to the bathroom and found the Polysporin, in the dark, and smeared it on my wound.  I then made my way back to bed and tried to get a few more minutes of sleep.  I managed to fall back to sleep for about an hour, then my alarm rang out and I got up and checked out the damaged done to my eye before I made my way down to work out.  The Polysporin had gooped my eye all up, but it wasn't stinging anymore.  I wiped it down and made my way down to hit up Workout 7.  Now when my alarm rings out on my phone, this is the picture that is now on my LOCK screen...

I see this screen and it reminds me that...
I should GET THE HELL OUT OF BED!...
if I want to ROCK it next year.
And it works!

(Geez...what's next...the other day I cut my thumb and finger, and now I get scratched up from the cat.  I have my own Tough Mudder happening in my own home.  This is the pre-warm up to the real training for the REAL thing.  Get those LIKEs in on my Facebook page and follow my blog, and the training will commence.)

Workout 7...It's a tough one for a Monday morning.  But it's doable.  I upped my weights in the second round of the Chest Press and Chest Flys in the last circuit.  I went from 10's to 15's.  The first time I did Body Revolution I probably only used 8's or maybe 10's for these, now it's 15's from now on.  I would say that the hardest part of this workout is Circuit 1.  She just hammers your abs in this one.  I remember when I first did Workout 7 in my first Round of Body Revolution, I hurt when I breathed the next day.  I need to feel that again.  I know my abs are stronger than they were and now that I have recovered from my cold I will be pushing it this week.  Well as long as I don't encounter any more injuries.  With the "cat fight" this morning, I got off to a little bit later start so I didn't get in my Killer Abs workout.  Tomorrow I am looking forward to working the back of my body.  More importantly, my Hamstrings, Butt and Biceps.

Today's food...
Breakfast: Egg Whites, Turkey Sausages and Salsa

Lunch: Chicken, Onions and Salsa Spinach Salad
I picked up some Thinly Sliced Chicken Breast yesterday and I cooked it up to toss on top of some Baby Spinach.  I threw in some onions and salsa and heated it through.  No Dressing needed as the salsa acted as the salad dressing.

Snack: Almond Yogurt Crunch

While earlier I made a Jell-O Brain for the daycare kids to eat at second snack.  I whipped up some Greek yogurt with cinnamon and almonds for myself to enjoy while they ate BRAIN.  I know that the Jell-O is not CLEAN for the little ones, but when you have two children begging in the store because they want to eat jiggly brain matter, what's a mum to do?!?!?!?

Dinner: Ham & Swiss Sandwich
My son had his acting lesson tonight, so we stopped in to Tim Horton's while we were waiting for him to finish.  I wanted the Chili, but they only had enough for one and my husband ordered one as well.

My water intake is back up to normal again.  The water will help flush out all the nastiness that has been going through my body the last three weeks.  And I am peeing more frequently again.  Which is a great thing!

I'm heading to bed now and I think I may have to wear some goggles, sunglasses or a full face mask, just to be on the safe side. Just kidding.  My beauty sleep has been compromised yet again.  I will keep you posted if anything happens tonight.  It's thundering and lightening right now, so I can see into the future and I have a feeling that my personal space will be invaded through the night by some scared little children.

Let's hope they have a great sleep in their own beds until morning.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night
