Body Revolution Cardio 1 + TapouT XT Plans + Addicted to Sweat + Sweat Pink Ambassador

This morning I broke out Cardio 1 of Body Revolution, and I ROCKED it!

This is me shaking my A$$ while doing “Hot Feet/Fast Feet”…
My legs and feet are working it too.
Loving my Skora Form running shoes.

These shorts that you see me wearing in the above picture are very short and 2 years ago I wouldn't have been caught dead wearing them, even around the house.  You won’t be seeing me strutting around outside the house in them anytime soon, but I do feel comfortable enough now to wear them and workout in them.  Last year I bought them from Lulu Lemon one size too small, so they were tight on me, and there was, and still is some overflow at the waist and in the thigh area.  They have that non-slip rubber around the inside of the leg hem, so this makes them accentuate the excess fat around my thigh.  This is why you will not be seeing me walking around in them outside my home.  You can’t tell from the picture because it’s a close action shot.  If I were standing still…it wouldn't be pretty. LOL I will save that shot for a before and after photo montage.

Maybe I will wear them for my before TapouT XT shot.  I will be starting that on Monday April 1, 2013.  I have it all planned out in my iPhone calendar, from the start date right through to the finishing date of June 23, 2013 (Rest Day).
This above is the start up.

I love this workout!  I love it because it’s only 26 minutes in length and it makes you sweat.  I had some extra time, so I added in the Burlesque Quick Fit Workout by Jazzercise.  I love this one too, and it’s only 20 minutes in length.  It doesn't really turn you into a sweaty mess, but it does make you move.

And it’s fun!

Today’s food…
Breakfast: Egg ‘N’ Cheese Muffin
This little sandwich is not so little really.  It contains for egg whites and one slice of cheddar cheese.  I broke my cheese up to spread it through the layers of egg whites.

So good!

Snack: Greek Yogurt with Raspberries
Okay so I am trying to stay as close to the meal plan as much as possible this week and next.  BUT…I forgot to buy grapes for this one, so I just HAD to use raspberries.

Lunch: Grilled Chicken with Sweet Potato, Broccoli and Strawberries
With this one this week, I decided to mix it all together...

It was really good like this.  I will make a note for the future.

Snack: Chocolate Almond Butter Protein Shake/Sweet Potato Brownie
I only drank a few sips of this one today.  I wasn't into it.  Instead I had a small sweet potato brownie.  My friend Courtney from www.treadmillrunway.com had posted a picture on Instagram of the brownies that she made and I was craving some.  So...I made a batch up.  They are really good.  Too good.  I must put the others away or I may just eat them all.  Just kidding...I won't.  I will feed them to the daycare children tomorrow for snack.  Healthy Kids = Happy Parents.

Dinner: Chicken Kebabs with Cucumber Sauce and Brown Rice and Steamed Spinach
I took a picture of tonight's dinner but I forgot to save it.  Oh well...next time.

Look what I got in the mail today…

Oh yeah!!!!  I will be sweating like Madonna.  When I pulled it out of the post box today while waiting for the school bus to arrive, I thought… “I can’t wait till the last daycare child leaves”.  My kids had swimming lessons tonight, so unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try one of the workouts.

More good news came to me later in the day today.  I got an email from Fit Approach welcoming me onto their team.  I am a Sweat Pink Ambassador now.
I will talk more about this tomorrow.

Since my children had their swimming lessons tonight, the hours have slipped by and it is getting late.  I must get to bed if I want to dance like Madonna tomorrow.  Somehow I have a feeling I am going to be shoveling snow like Trina tomorrow.  It has been snowing pretty much since 4pm this afternoon.  That just may be my workout in the morning.  No Oxygen Build Your Best Body and no Madonna, Addicted to Sweat workout.

NO…
That's right M...
No Sweat...No Candy
NO EXCUSES!

I will get up at 5:30am and I WILL get my Oxygen Magazine workout done.  Madonna may just have to wait until later in the day.  Or vice versa.

Until then…Stay Strong!

…and Sweat Pink!

...Harder is Better! (that's the Hard Candy motto)

Good night

Workout Day 25 of “Build Your Best Body” + So Much More…

Today here in Ontario Canada it was Family Day!  I was able to sleep in a bit later; I got to spend the entire day with my family.  I know I have been a bit quiet over the last few days, but it was more than just “family” day today, but rather “family weekend”.  We didn’t do anything too exciting as my husband and my son were both not feeling that great.  Rest day yesterday, turned into a full fledged clean up day in my home.  Today turned into a major workout day, I will explain…

So after having a bit of a sleep in this morning, I got up and made breakfast for my family and then FINALLY made my way to my workout area.  I was going to start the Oxygen Magazine “Build Your Best Body” workout right away, but then I decided since I had the day off, I started with Zumba Rush as my warm up.  While I was busy shakin’ my thang, my daughter came downstairs to see me.  She decided that she was going to workout as well.  LOVE IT!!!!  She pulled out her yoga mat and started dancing around on it and doing other exercises too.  By this time I finished my Zumba workout and proceeded onto the Build Your Best Body workout.  Well once my little girl spotted my resistance band I had to almost fight her for it.  We decided to share it.  LOL  After I started my workout, she decided she needed to get her running shoes on…well she came back in shorts, tank top, socks and running shoes…it made me SO happy to see this.  I knew that by what I was doing, was setting a great example for her.  Ever since I began my journey, she has always been an active participant in some of my workouts (well the weekend ones anyways).  Here are a few pictures to help tell the tale of my little girl’s fitness regime today…

Here is a picture of her workout notes...

She wrote down her reps on her Hello Kitty note pad.  Each paper was for a different exercise.
LOVE IT!!!!

She was joined by my son, but only for a few minutes, and then he went back to his LEGO building, and movie watching with my husband upstairs.  I think they were having a MEGA Batman-movie-watching session.
In the "workout" picture you will notice the little blue box at the end of my daughter's mat...that was her workout "T.V."  It's a wind up music/picture box.  LOL

Once I was halfway through my BYBB workout, my little girl wanted me to do her “Healthy Workout”, as she named it.  I told her when I was finished, we would do her workout.

I completed my Oxygen Magazine workout and was ready for what was up next.  Well at least I thought I was.  She is a little slave driver.

She had her workout stuff set up already and told me to get mine out and set it up the same as hers.  As I didn’t know what moves she had planned, I grabbed the 8 lb dumbbells…she told me I needed the “blue ones”…the blue ones are 10 lb dumbbells.  I knew I was in trouble.  Here is our gear all set up and ready to use…

We started off with some Squats and then more squats, and well you guessed it…even more squats.  Even though we were doing lots of Squats, it was the variations that were important.  Some were regular squats, weighted squats and the one variation that made mean laugh was the Sumo Squat that she had me doing.  Sumo Squats with heels up.  It wasn’t the exercise itself that made me laugh, it was what my little drill sergeant told me.  “Keep your heels up.  The floor is like lava, and if you put your heels down your feet will burn”.  Totally makes sense, so I didn’t dare drop my heels to the floor.

We did a few ballet moves, along with a weighted arm sequences.  She definitely knows how to work you hard.  After she showed me how to do one of her exercises on the floor with the resistance band and a chair, she came over to me and watched me to see if my form was okay.  She stood over me as if she was spotting for me, and then she guided my hands back and forth.  I was dying at this point…lol.  Then she said, “Just a few more”.  LOL She was so serious looking.  I told her that if she kept this up, she will make a great personal trainer some day.

She had me doing Jumping Jacks.  Just when I thought we were going to stop them, she kept going and going.  She would definitely give Jillian Michaels a run for her money with the Jumping Jacks.

One of my favourite moves is this one…
She calls it the “High Heel Girl”
You've got to love it!

Well after that grueling “Healthy Workout” by Lil’ M, I still had some energy left so I decided to get in another dance workout.  I completed the Burlesque Quick Fit Workout.  Plus I didn’t have to work today, so it was nice to do a little extra today.

Instead of doing all of today’s food, I am going to recap some of the other meals I enjoyed over the past few days that I did not tell you about.  If you follow me on Instagram @Phatsoslim you will have already seen most of them.  But here we go…

This here was the Shrimp Platter that I enjoyed on Valentine's Day.
We went out for a family Valentine dinner and this was wonderful.
The coconut shrimp was the best.

I did indulge in a couple of my own  homemade Dark Chocolate Coconut Bonbons...
Pretty fancy eh???

Here is a steak salad that I enjoyed the other day...
I used a bitter of the Artisana Coconut Butter that I bought from www.iHerb.com and placed it on the top of the steak while grilling it.  It was SO good!  I will definitely cook it like this again.

After cleaning like crazy people yesterday, we took a trip to Booster Juice...
I hadn't had one of these since last summer.  What once was a weekly thing for me, has become a once, twice maybe 3 times a year thing for me now.  I got the Pomegranate Passion with a energy booster.  I needed it after all that cleaning.  SO good!

Today I made up a batch of Kale Chips...
I know that they are not on the meal plan for the Build Your Best Body, but I needed to use up some of the Kale I had in the fridge.

The last two weeks have been rather all over the place with me following the "Muscle Up Plan".  During the first week of Month 2, it was my daughter's birthday and we went out for dinner a couple times and that kind of threw me.  I got kind of lazy in the kitchen...tisk, tisk.  It kind of carried on into the second week too.  I still ate well, but some of the meals were different from the actual meal plan.  I am not a machine and do not want to be.  I want to enjoy life, so if going out for dinner pops up here and there, I will go, but I will make good CLEAN choices as best I can.  Like the Shrimp Platter...instead of having the choice of potato or rice (they only had white), I chose to have double vegetables.

Here are just few more meals/snacks that I ate...
Cranberry Mug Cake
Cooking in the microwave...ready for eating.

Avocado on Rice Cakes
Healthy fats.
 This meal was delicious...

Grilled Zucchini with Steak and Brown Rice Pasta.

I think I will add in an extra BYBB workout this week for a total of 4 times for this coming week.  I’m just feeling like I need more in the way of strength training.  I am already at the halfway point of this 90 program so I am going to kick it up a notch.  So whether I add in another workout tomorrow or just stick with cardio, I will see how feel in the morning, I might be super sore from Little Miss’s workout.

Until then…Stay Strong!

Good night

Trina
It will be nice to soon be wearing tank tops and sleeveless dresses again.  Spring will be here soon.  Get your workouts done or I will get my little drill sergeant after you...

"Just a few more..."
Get. It. Done.

Workout Day 23 of “Build Your Best Body”

Guess what????  I woke up at 5:30am this morning.  I think it was because my daughter was using my rock hard abs for a leg rest, and I had to move because I was not comfortable.  She is such a little bed-weaver.  She fell asleep in our bed last night, but I carried her back to her own bed, but some time in the night she made her way back.  But as I have said before…this is not going to happen forever, so I will get crappy sleeps and some lovely cuddles while it lasts.  She turned 5 years old last Thursday, and she is already talking about being a teenager.  LOL

NO excuses!

So yep…me out of bed at 5:30am this morning, so that means that I got in my BYBB strength training workout AND my Quick Fit Burlesque workout.

I ROCKED out more Plyo Push Ups from my toes again today.  I just can’t do them from my knees anymore.  I tightened up the resistance band a little more too on Monday and I tried even more today for some of the moves…like Biceps Curls and Overhead Press.  I’ve got to work those triceps and biceps…Sexy, strong arms to show off once the nice weather comes our way.

This morning and yesterday morning I wore my new Form shoes by Skora Running for my workout.

I know they are built for minimalist running, but they are great for dancing too!  When I first started doing my dance workouts, I told you that I felt awkward dancing in running shoes.  I am not a running shoe wearing person, with the exception of when I am working out.  So to dance in running shoes, I have always felt very clumsy.  Not anymore!  When I did my dance workouts yesterday and the one today, I felt very light on my feet.  So I will be wearing my Skora Running Form shoes until I progress to doing my dance workouts in heels…LOL…heels…not really.  Well maybe when I get my Madonna workout…no not when I get it, but rather when I have done it hundreds of times.  Somehow, me thinks, I will be sticking to my Skora Running shoes for my workouts.

Today’s food…
Breakfast: Banana Blueberry PB Shake
This was really good, but I like eating my breakfast and not drinking it.  I would rather have a shake for my snacks.  It was Purple Power time!  I love the colour of this one…

Instead of regular natural peanut butter, I used PB2 instead.  So good, and saved some calories too.

Yesterday I got a package in the post…check it out…
The Chocolate PB2 is SO good!  It’s almost dangerous.
I ordered these items through www.iHerb.com and so can you.  If you are a first time customer with iHerb, you can use my discount code RGZ462 to receive a discount off your first order.  They included the nail file shown in the picture, and a sample of fish oil capsules with my order.  I love free stuff!

I mentioned the other day that the PB2 is a powdered peanut butter, and all you have to do is mix it with water and stir until smooth.  Here is a shot of the before and after...

YUMMY!!!!
It will be great to throw in my Chocolate PB Protein Shake that I have on the menu for a snack tomorrow.

Snack: Salmon & Avocado on Rice Cakes

Okay, okay so I can’t help but changing things up.  This was supposed to be tuna, but I ran out.  So since I LOVE salmon, I just made the substitution.

Lunch:  Roasted Chicken & Basil Pizza

Change up time again.  I will explain this one too (I don’t seem to be very organized this week).  Last night I was to have steak, but only remembered half way through the day to take it out of the freezer…so no steak was eaten last night.  Instead I had one of these chicken pizzas.  I had some leftover chicken in the fridge and decided I would make a pizza similar to the Scrambled Egg White Pizza I had the other day.

For today’s and last night’s pizza, I used a whole wheat tortilla as the crust.  Spread minced garlic over it and then topped it with my homemade salsa…oh wait…my Mum’s homemade salsa, mine is all gone.  After the salsa went on, I placed the roasted chicken, fresh basil and low fat mozzarella cheese on the top.  I placed it in the oven waited for the cheese to melt and enjoyed it very, very much.  Quick, simple and oh so good!

The minced garlic..........................The salsa
The chicken and basil.......................The cheese

Snack: Hard Boiled Egg Whites and an Orange
I ran out of apples.  So I subbed in an orange.

Dinner: Steak served with Broccoli & Sweet Potato

Finally at last I can have my steak!  I was to have steak last Wednesday, but we went out for dinner instead.  Oh but I had that one the next night…didn’t I???

I ran out to get some more apples for school lunches and snacks.  So that allowed me to enjoy another Jazz apple and some PB2 while I am writing this post.

Well tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and while the chocolates and sweets may be flowing, make sure you get your workouts done.
Dark Chocolate and Coconut Bonbons
Made from my own two hands.  Clean treats all the way!
These are Teacher's Valentine chocolates.  I will box them up and send them to school in the morning.

I will be wearing my Valentine gift again in the morning while I workout, my Skora Running Form shoes.  Love them!  Love my husband, thanks mate.  A little more dancing I think will be on the agenda for the morning.

Until then…Stay Strong!

Good night
