Body Revolution Day 29 of 90

Day 29 = Phase 2 Workout 5

Good Day Phase 2...happy to see you!
Wow I can't believe that I have already completing 29 days of this program.  It feels like I just got the parcel in the mail.  Time flies when you're having fun and best of all...losing weight...and getting healthy.  Okay so last week wasn't very fun being sick and all, BUT I still managed to pull my workouts through and survived and so can YOU!
Today's workout, Workout #5.  I love the Push Ups in this one.  They are a Push Up/Side Plank.  Jillian really busts at the ol' Triceps in this one.  The weights I used were 5's, 8's and 10's in this workout, and you DO need your resistance cable.  Speaking of that cable, I found the Punches to be quite awkward in this one.  If I can't get comfortable with using the cable for these punches on Thursday, I might just switch to dumbbells, for weighted punches instead.  I just found that the cable kind of rubbed on my arm and I wasn't focusing on the move.  Maybe I just need to practice it first...I don't know.  Overall, again this is an excellent workout.  It got my heart rate up there, I burned 290 calories in 36 minutes.  I'd say that's pretty damn good for an early morning workout.

Okay so I remembered to measure myself this morning...

Starting measurements:
Bust: 38.5" Waist: 32"      Hips:42.5" Thighs: 25"   Arms: 11.5" Shoulders: 44.5"  Calves: 15"   Neck: 13.2"

Current measurements:
Bust: 38"    Waist: 30.5"   Hips: 40"   Thighs: 23"   Arms: 11"   Shoulders: 42.5"   Calves: 14"   Neck: 13"
Total lost: 10.2"

Starting Weight: 164.8lbs  Current Weight: 154.8lbs
Total lost: 10lbs

WoooooHoooooo!

It was nice to finally see the numbers for my thighs and hips go down.  That seems to be MY problem area.  I know that there is no such thing as Spot Reducing, if there was, I would be ALWAYS working on those two areas.  But that's the great thing about this program, Jillian doesn't let you focus only on one area ALL the time.  You workout the front of the body and abs in one workout and then then next day you move onto the back of the body and abs.
Speaking of the backside...one thing that I have noticed...and ladies listen up...we ALL have it, some more so than others...CELLULITE.  I have noticed that appearance of cellulite on my legs is lessening.  This is from eating CLEAN.  No processed crap is going into this body.  I don't use creams or anything like that to help reduced the appearance of IT(yes I have tried them in the past, but no more)...waste of money.  Instead I spend that money on clean foods.  Eating clean and drinking LOTS and LOTS of water will help.  I didn't really take any pictures "before", so you will just have to take my word.  If I find some old pictures someday, maybe I will do the old comparison thing for you to see.
I am no expert on this except that I do have it on my body.  So I got some information off the net in regards to this bumpy subject.  Pun intended all the way.

What is cellulite?(taken from http://www.medicinenet.com/)

The term cellulite refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people have on their hips, thighs, and buttocks. This appearance is much more common in women than in men because of differences in the way fat, muscle, and connective tissue are distributed in men and women's skin. The lumpiness of cellulite is caused by fat deposits that push and distort the connective tissues beneath skin, leading to the characteristic changes in appearance of the skin.

What causes cellulite?

The dimpled appearance of cellulite can be considered to be a normal variant -- one way that many perfectly normal human beings look. Heredity, skin thickness, gender, the amount and distribution of body fat, and age can all influence the extent to which cellulite is preshent or visible. While cellulite is more common in women than men, men can also be affected. Cellulite occurs in people of all races living all around the globe. Although female hormones may play a role in contributing to this pattern of fat distribution, cellulite is not treatable by hormone therapy.

This is my opinion...Eating right and exercise may not get rid of it ALL together, but it will help reduce the appearance of it.

So since we are talking about eating right...let's see what today's food was...

Breakfast: Multi-grain Pancakes with Berry Maple Syrup
Those oh so yummy pancakes...I had them already made, so they were quick and easy this morning.

Lunch: Grilled Halibut with Fresh Berry and Ginger Salsa served with Carrots, Parsnips and Orange
I bought the wrong "H" fish on Saturday.  I bought Haddock instead of Halibut.  But we will keep the name the same.  The calories worked out the same.

Snack: Chocolate Cinnamon Frozen Banana Pops
Today in the daycare, we were celebrating one of the little ones 1st Birthday.  I made them chocolate cupcakes to eat and I enjoyed MY chocolate too.

Dinner: Beef & Barely Soup
Tonight I finished off the last bowl of soup.  It certainly made me feel better while fighting this stinking cold.  I will remember that for next time...well let's hope there is no next time, at least not for awhile.

Tomorrow is Day 30...wow...1/3 of the way through.  I am very happy with my progress so far.  The workouts have been great and the food is terrific.  I will start introducing some new meals in the weeks to come and I will add some recipes as well.

Until tomorrow...

Good night.

  3. I started Body Revolution yesterday and have been following along as other people blog about their experiences with the program. I have to say that I cannot WAIT to try the multigrain pancakes you keep raving about! Sadly, I have to wait until the weekend to make up a batch, but I am counting the days until then.

Congratulations on your progress! Your posts are always so positive and inspiring; I'm so glad you're reaching your goals!

    1. Thanks bodyrevolutionbride. Yes, those pancakes are really good. You might not think it when you mix them and scoop them into the pan. They look like they are going to be really, really heavy...but they are NOT AT ALL. They are very quite light and fluffy.
      Enjoy!
