Body Revolution Day 40 of 90

Day 40 = Workout 6

I want to begin this post by saying thank you again.
As of 9pm tonight, there have been 10150 page views of my blog...CRAZY but AWESOME!

You ALL ROCK!!!

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the followers of my blog, here on Blogger...

Monique, Meghan, Keedanlex, Melisb80, Body Revolution Girl, Catherine, Wendy, Jess, Jessica, Mymelody, -, Ash, Kathie, Sara, Maggie, Brittany, Cristy, Nika, Susie, Melissa, April and Francis with an "i"...THANK YOU to all of you and the many more that have been following through MFP, Facebook, Twitter and NOW, thanks to Helene...Pinterest.

You guys keep me motivated each and everyday.  Wherever you are in the world...just to name a few that I know of...
USA, CANADA, SAUDI ARABIA, UNITED KINGDOM, ROMANIA, SLOVENIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, FRANCE AND AUSTRALIA...Here's a big Horton Hears A Who..."HeLLLLOOOOOO" to you all.
I love this book and movie.  It was the first movie I took my daughter to see when she was just a baby, Movies for Mommies, great program.  I bought her the book and a Christmas decoration for the tree.

Remember..."a person's a person, no matter how small".

Always remember too...that, a person's a person, no matter how big they are too.  Someone that is larger than you should not be look down on, or frowned upon because of their size.  You don't know, they may have already lost 100lbs and should be congratulated on their great accomplishment.  Others that are Overweight or Obese(somewhere where I have been throughout the last 10 months), may not know where to begin.  That is where you, we, can help them to find their starting point(even if you are still working on yourself at the same time).  I am happy when I have had comments like, "you have inspired me to start the Body Revolution" or "I love the food pictures, I'm going to try that recipe".  Things like that, I know that I am helping others to better themselves.  It feels GREAT!  It's kind of a 'Pay it Forward' thing.  Pay the great food and fitness forward for a healthier and stronger world.

Okay, onto Workout 6...last time for me on this one.  I LOVE the Abs portion of this one.  I do hope she kicks it up a bit more with the Abs in the weeks to come...I'm sure she will.  I like the Zigzag Jumps.  With these, I tend to put my arms up with my hands by my ears as if I was going to do a crunch, and then do a bit of a side crunch as I jump to either side.  Kind of like a closed legged Wacky Jack from P90X.  This morning with the Superman's, I used two 4lb weights for the first set, and then I had to go to one 5lb weight between the two hands.  I don't really like these without weights, so why in the hell would I like them WITH weights!  I'm so glad I am done with them...I think???  Don't worry, I won't wimp out if I have to do them again.

Today's food...
Breakfast:  Steel Cut Oats with Apple & Pecans
Today I made it using honey instead of maple syrup, it was just as good.

Lunch: Salmon Burgers with Zesty Aioli
This meal is from the Flat Belly Diet Cookbook.  I LOVE IT!  I didn't have any whole-wheat buns in the house so I used half of a whole-wheat pita as a bun.  It wasn't as nice without an actual bun though.
I used Greek yogurt to make Aioli instead of mayonnaise, it was okay.  I think next time I will use the mayo again as I have done in the past.  I was experimenting.  This is the canned salmon that I prefer to use...
Skinless and Boneless...it's so much nicer than trying to get all those yucky round bones out of the other.  Just when you think you got them all out...you take a bite of whatever you made with the salmon and crunch down on one of the things.  Uggghhhh...blah.  I don't mind paying the little bit extra for this.  Here in Canada, the cheapest I have seen it, is $2.99/tin at Sobey's and Walmart.  You could probably use fresh salmon too, I have yet to try it them like that.
So....I guess you would like the recipe????

Salmon Burgers with Zesty Aioli
Makes 4 servings Time: 30 minutes
AIOLI1/4 cup canola mayonnaise
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 clove garlic, minced (get out that Pampered Chef garlic press I told you about)

BURGERS
2 cans (6-7oz each) boneless, skinless wild salmon, drained
2 egg whites, beaten
1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1/2 red onion, minced
1 jalapeno chile pepper, seeded and finely chopped (I used red pepper flakes instead)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 large tomato, cut into 4 slices
4 whole wheat buns, toasted

ONE: To prepare the aioli: Combine the mayonnaise, lime juice, lime zest, mustard, and garlic in a small bowl.  Set aside.

TWO: To prepare the burgers:  Mash the salmon with a fork in a medium bowl.  Add the egg whites, bread crumbs, yogurt, onion, pepper, and cumin.  Stir to blend.  Shape into 4 burgers.

THREE: Coat a nonstick skillet with cooking spray.  cook the burgers over medium heat for 6 minutes, turning once, or until browned and crisp.

FOUR: Place the bottoms of the buns on 4 plate.  Top each with a tomato slice, burger, and half of the reserved aioli.  Finish with the bun top.

So there you go.  If you make them up, let me know if you like them.

Snack: Chocolate-Covered Carrot Cake Pop
I haven't put them in the freezer yet.  They were in the fridge calling my name at snack time today.

Dinner: Dinner was a bit of a mish-mash of leftovers.  I had a small bit of the Mahajeb(bought from the market last Saturday) and the leftover Plums from the Lamb Skewers and Plums.  I also had a serving of Baked Garlic Pita Chips.

This was actually a really nice combination.
Trina's Tip:  Always make your leftovers appealing by presenting them on your plate.  Rather than eating them out of the container you heat them up in, this will make it more like a brand new meal.

Tomorrow I have the last workout of the first half of Phase 2, Cardio 2...WooHoo!!!

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night.

Trina
