Body Revolution Day 50 of 90

Day 50 = Workout 7

Good morning Abs!  Today was not nearly as tough as last Monday morning.  My body knew what it had to do, and did it!
I added some weight to the Side Plank Raise in the last circuit.  I grabbed a 5lb dumbbell and held it on my hip.  I think I may try an 8lb dumbbell on Thursday.  This was my own UP button option for this move.  I still can't seem to get the Jack Knife Crunches, I did do 2 of them.  Then I continued on with Pike Crunches instead.  I think I will practice a few of these tonight on a carpeted floor, where there is more cushion for my tush.  I know my abs can handle these, its just they hurt my tailbone area.  I'm not going to give up though...practice makes perfect...right???  I will do 10 of them tonight to make up for them this morning.(maybe more)

Today's food...
Breakfast: Multi-Grain Pancakes with Berry Maple Syrup

This breakfast really needs no introduction if you have been following my blog.  I LOVE THESE!!!!
For all the other Body Revolutionaries out there...do you feel the same way about these, or is it just me???

Lunch: Tomato Sandwich on Garlic Rubbed Toast with Hard Boiled Eggs
I switched breads this week.  I am using Dempster's Body Wise 100% Whole Wheat bread, only 100 calories per 2 slice serving.

Snack: Crispy Apple Chips
This snack was one of the recipes from the April/May issue of Clean Eating Magazine.  I added a bit of cinnamon to mine.  I used just 2 1/2 apples because my daughter decided she would eat half of the third.

A full serving is about 30 chips, 78 calories per serving.

I divided the apple chips into 3 half servings, approximately 15 chips per bag, calories cut in half to 39 calories per serving.  It's a nice substitute for when you are craving a crunchy snack.
Check out http://www.cleaneatingmag.com/ I just went digital with my subscription on my iPhone.  If I ever get an iPad, it will become my kitchen recipe center.  I will have to put it in a Ziploc to kept my splatters of oils and sauces off of it. LOL

Additional Snack: Chocolate Covered Carrot Cake Pops/Balls
Since the calories were low with the Crispy Apple Chips, I thought it would be wise to have an extra snack.  And well...it would just happen to be made with some chocolate.

Dinner: Mediterranean Lamb Burgers served with Creamy Cucumber & Yogurt Salad

These burgers are so good.

Today I also added a little bit a red onion to the mixture.  After forming into 4oz patties, I always let them sit in the fridge for a few hours before cooking, this just helps to set them up so they don't fall apart while cooking.  I like to spoon the dressing on the Creamy Cucumber & Yogurt Salad, instead of mixing it all together.  My husband and children don't care too much for the dressing, so I leave them separate, so that the whole family can enjoy the cucumbers.  My children didn't wear them on their eyes tonight though, like last time.

Back to Workout 8 for me in the morning.

 Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night.

  1. I haven't tried the pancakes yet but I do love the Creamy cucumber yogurt salad. I add grape tomatos to mine!

    1. That's a good idea with the tomatoes, I'll have to try that next time.

      Thanks,

  2. I also haven't tried the pancakes yet. I'm afraid that won't stick with me...seems like I need more protein to make it to lunch. They do look fab, though!

I am excited to push on with Phase 2 soon and tackle these same workouts. My husband & I have decided to postpone 1 week because of my travel schedule, but that is fine. I'm actually going to take workouts 5 & 6 with me and move on without him. We can't both use the same DVDs anyways, I'll just do 3 weeks on those same DVDs.

Your pictures are so scrumptious looking. Who could ever think you were being deprived in any way??? Good, wholesome, natural food - THE BEST.

    1. Hey ct,

You never know until you TRY!

I really liked Workouts 5 & 6. The Triceps in Workout 5 are much harder than in Workout 7. As I have said, Workout 7 is all about the ABS, I think so anyway.

      Thanks for reading.

    2. I just had a thought...instead of the syrup and berries. You could try a scoop of Greek Yogurt with Berries on top of the pancakes. The Greek yogurt would give you some more protein. Just recalculate your calories so that you don't go over. It would be like having whip cream and berries only BETTER...just a thought.

  3. I heard the pancakes take forever to make but I keep hearing how scrumptious they are so maybe this weekend. I'm amazed at how determined you are to stick to the diet exactly. I gotta borrow some of that.

    1. Hey Catherine,

The pancakes do take some extra time, but that is why you make up a batch and freeze them. Then it's just Heat, Eat and Go!

I love them! Just in case you didn't know that already. LOL
