80 down. Wow!!! Only 10 days to go...
I know that some of you are just starting out, others are at the halfway point and a few have completed the full 90 days. Whenever you are, you are doing FANTASTIC!!! You know why???...Because you are doing it, or have done it. Awesome job! Keep up the great work.
Last night while we were at our daughter's dance class. It had been changed to a different room, one where we could not watch as normal. So we waited in the foyer of the complex. Anyway, my son wanted to investigate some things. We went walking up a ramp to the arena/running track. There was nothing going on in there as they were setting up something on the arena floor, so the track was closed. That didn't stop my son though. He asked me if he could run around the track, of course I said, "yes". He ran/walked around the whole track and said, "that was AWESOME!" After that I told him that if he liked doing that, we could sign him up for track. He said, only if it was just him to do the running and not other kids. He is at that stage where he wants to be the best. I explained to him that he would not be the only one and that he could compete and run races, and then he adds..."and win them all and be the best". I then quoted his favourite book from when he was younger..."you'll be the best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest. Except when you don't. Because, sometimes, you won't. I'm sorry to say so but, sadly, it's true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups CAN happen to you." from Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. Halfway through the quote, he joined me in saying it. That made me very happy. I also told him that he just had to TRY and he will be great. Then we also quoted..."And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.) KID YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!"
So...what I am getting to with my little side story is...that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to ALL of us. Even the best of us(which we ALL are). But when we do get "all hung up in a prickle-ly perch"...just pick yourself back up, and keep on TRYING! We don't want to be stuck in the "waiting place" again, where "everybody is just waiting"...waiting to lose weight and get healthy...time won't wait, as each day passes and you do nothing for yourself, the days, weeks, months and years will still go by, and you will still be waiting for that MAGIC spell to come over you to get that weight off...it's not going to happen unless you are the magician and get off your butt and do something about it.
Abra Cadabra Hocus Pocus>>>Eat Clean and Exercise!<<<Pouf(insert clouds of smoke here) Voila>>>It's a healthier version of YOU. That is my magic trick. No pills, no meal replacement shakes, no gimmick fad diets, no surgeries. EATING CLEAN AND EXERCISE is the magic potion, spell, whatever you want to call it...so cast the spell on yourself today, get out of the "waiting place", and you WILL SUCCEED! 98 3/4 percent guaranteed<<<There is always room for improvement. Isn't Dr. Seuss FUN???? And, oh SO right!

"So...be your name (insert your name here if you are not eating clean and exercising) or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea, you're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!"
Who needs Dr. Oz(no offence), when you have Dr. Seuss. LOL
Okay so getting to my Hang-up...My Plank Hold Challenge Revolution...yesterday I forgot to do it, due to tax stress and lack of sleep. This morning, I did do it, but not for as long as I would have liked to. Today's time ....It is, however, an improvement from Saturday morning's post Cardio 3 plank. Saturday's time was 3:44.7...Hey, every second counts! I am surprised that I got that time as I was SO tired this morning. If you are a parent, you know that you are ALWAYS on call in a most challenging job in the universe. Last night, both of my children were in our bed...ugghhh...does not make for a very good night's sleep at all. I know I have mentioned my daughter coming in, but my son hasn't come in for over a year...I knew something was wrong. He said, "I don't feel well, I just want to snuggle with you"...awwww...so sweet. Except for the part where he sleeps on my legs and I have all of a foot of bed to sleep on. Then just when I get semi-comfortable, the alarms goes off...not so sweet. To top that off...the cat jumps up on the bed and decided to park his body on top of me. CAN'T MOVE...GOTTA MOVE...I slid out from under the covers and got ready to hit Cardio 3, but with a bit of a bang up from lack of rest. BUT I DID IT!
Here is what I had to deal with last night...my two little lovelies. BED HOGS!!!! We have a queen size bed and my daughter is right in the middle, and my son, as you can see is over to my side...so that leaves me with about a foot to rest on. I know I have gotten smaller, but I need more space then that to rest up for the next day. Let's hope tonight, they stay in their own beds.
Today's food...
Breakfast: Steel-Cut Oats with Apples & Nuts
I went with almonds as the choice of nut for today's Oats
So good!
Lunch: Chili-lime Shrimp Skewers with Pineapple Mint Salsa/Barley with Roasted Cauliflower & Almonds
I haven't made this one for a while and it's so good. I have had the ingredients in house for weeks, I just never got around to making it until today.
I made a single serving of the shrimp, but a full recipe of the Barley and Cauliflower. There is a little bit of the pineapple-mint salsa left, as I only ate 3/4 of the serving size. I will enjoy some leftovers the remainder of the week.
Snack: Spiced Fig & Apple Compote/Raspberries
The Compote was taken from the freezer, and it was just as good as the day I made it. I ate it cold, only because I forgot that it could have been eaten warm.
These beautiful Raspberries were enjoyed after dinner tonight.
Dinner: Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki 6" Sub from Subway
I usually pass on the subs when the rest of my family get them(usually on Friday nights), but tonight however, because it was Wednesday, the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki is the Sub of the Day at Subway, so I decided I would grab one too. I got a foot long, but only ate half of it. WooHoo!!! More leftovers, or my husband might eat it tomorrow night if I decide to make up something from my kitchen.
Self control is another key to losing weight. The unhealthy version of me a year ago, would have probably eaten the whole thing. Not anymore. I am in CONTROL.
This is a great sub. However, as I was eating it, I couldn't help thinking of what I could have had from my kitchen instead.
Take control of YOUR life, and it will get better!
Get OUT of that WAITING Place!
Well...I wish you all well, whatever day you are on.
And remember "Today is your day! So...get on your way!"
Tomorrow is my day to hit Workout 11 again.
Until then...Stay Strong!
Good night
Trina

Thank you THANK YOU for posting this today! I am inspired, and I love your use of Dr. Seuss at the beginning. It`s funny how I continually need reminders and motivation but each time I feel great. Sorry about the sleep, and hope you sleep like a babe tonight!
ReplyDeleteNo problem Jessica. I love Dr Seuss! I used to read Oh the Places You'll Go, almost everyday to my son since he was born, until he was about 3 years. It's an awesome story!
DeleteI had a much better sleep last night thanks. I still had to put my little girl back in her bed in the middle of the night, but at least she stayed there until morning.
Stay Strong!
Trina
