Body Revolution Day 86 of 90

Day 86 = Workout 12

A friend of mine, Gloria, posted this picture on facebook tonight...

Get and keep your kids active!

Okay onto Body Revolution...

I re-invented the Wheel today.  Well...MY Wheel, Push Up, that is...I did 10 the first go around and 7 the second time around.  After I did the 10, I manage to stay up off of my head, but not in the second round.  I tried to get back up after the 7 but it wasn't happening, so I just balanced on my head for the remainder of the time.  I have one more try at this workout on Friday.  This move is probably the only move in this workout that is putting me up to a challenge.   The other moves I have added weight already.  I hope Friday I can push the Wheel past 10.

I have found that during Weeks  11 & 12 and so far week 13, I have not lost any weight more yet.  I am hoping this week I drop a little bit more before the end.  I also found that these workouts have not really made me feel the "soreness" that I have talked about over the past almost 90 days.  I will keep on pushing to the end.
So last night, we were ALL in bed by 9:30pm.  Maybe that is what helped me with my Wheel Push Ups.  I know that it must have helped with my Plank Hold Challenge today.  I pushed it past yesterday's time.  Today's time...
I'm going for 6 tomorrow!!!
We'll see what happens.

Today's food...
Breakfast: Poached Eggs & Turkey Bacon with Tomato & Guacamole
This meal here is from the 7-Day Kickstart menu...Only...I used turkey bacon instead of Canadian bacon.   I also used some of the Guacamole I had made up the other day, instead of using a portion of an avocado.  I didn't want it to go bad.

Lunch: Churkey Chili
I had another serving of my chili, and then I bagged the rest, and threw it in the freezer.

It was even better today than it was yesterday.

Snack: Pecan Vanilla Yogurt Crunch
Snack recipe from the 7-Day Kickstart Meal Plan

I love pecans!  And this snack is very good because of them.

Dinner: Rosemary Citrus Tilapia with a Baby Spinach Salad
This one is also from the Kickstart meal plan.  It's the first time I tried it too.  When I did the Kickstart way back when, I used salmon instead.  Since I had that Baked Tilapia the other night when we were out with friends, I decided to buy some at the store on Sunday.  I'm so glad I did.  I decided to buy the frozen Tilapia, and I am glad I did.  Each piece is individually packed, and then placed in the larger package.  I didn't realize that, until I opened the bag up today.

This one is a good one.  So if you are just starting, or not, try this recipe out.  I think you will like it.

After Dinner Snack:  Oogies Gourmet Popcorn Sun-Dried Tomato & Parmesan
My kids wanted this popcorn the other day when we were out shopping.  So I thought I would try a little bit tonight.  It's quite nice...BUT...Popcorn is my weakness, along with chocolate and raspberries.  But if you have noticed...I haven't had the chocolate or the raspberries.  Stay Strong Trina!

Speaking of Raspberries...I did have some in the fridge along with blackberries, pineapple, golden berries and grapes.  Even though it is fruit and it is good for me, I found that I would open the fridge and pop a couple of the berries in my mouth between meals.  So to stop that from happening, and to stop them from going bad, I bagged them all a placed them in the freezer for future use.  I will be enjoying some kind of berry with my Multi-Grain Pancakes on Friday(well, unless I change my mind and save them for Mother's Day).  That's sound like a great idea!  I'm so glad I thought of that.  LOL  I'll just tell my husband to get the kids to heat them up(or he can heat them up for them, for me).

Bagging and freezing can save you a lot of time and money.  If your fruits and/or vegetables look like they are starting to turn, cut them up and bagged them and throw them in the freezer.  I also chopped up the fresh mint I had, and threw that in the freezer.  I knew that I would not use it all before it would go bad.  It's all about losing weight, getting healthy and eating clean...and NOT...losing money, stressing out and eating crap.  You are stronger now than you have ever been.  Make the right choices.

I wish I would have taken more pictures while doing body Revolution.  I think I took the 3 at the start and then only a few in between.  I do have more pictures that I will share with you once I hit my ONE year anniversary for my overall journey to a Healthier Version of ME.  I know that there is a BIG difference there.  I am a bit nervous that my after pictures of BR won't show that much of a difference.  I know I am being silly, but just the way I am feeling these last couple days, I am hoping that this crap feeling goes away so I can look confident and strong in my after pictures.
Since buying some smaller sizes in clothing while in Toronto the other week...it has made me feel a bit fat.  I think because the clothes fit better, tighter, than the clothes I already own, they are just making me feel bigger.  BUT...I know I am NOT.  It just a feeling, and it will pass.  I remember that I squeezed into an XXS dress without popping any stitches. LOL.  As I was looking at myself in the mirror today, I looked at all the areas which still need improvement.  Everywhere!  Don't get me wrong though.  I am very, VERY happy with what I have accomplished so far, but I am not at my goal weight yet so there is still work to be done.
I had a reader and a MFP friend, jjean905 ask me in regards to my plank hold challenge, "Have you noticed a difference in your abs?"
Answer: Yes and no.  Yes, I can definitely feel the difference in the strength of my abs.  No, I still have a layer of fat that needs to be burned off of them.
So...you see, there is still fat to be SHED!  I have told you already, that my butt and my thighs need some more shedding as well...so be nice when I post my after pictures when I am done the 90 days.

Tomorrow I am going to try and shed some more of that fat off and shake off this sore throat/cold that is getting me down.  But I will remain strong.

Until then...Stay Strong!

Good night

Trina

  1. We are always the hardest on ourselves. I have seen some of your pictures along the way and you look amazing. I understand where you are coming from though, I do the same thing. It seems like even though I am losing weight, I become more aware of how much I have to lose still.

You have done an amazing job and have inspired so many. Don't be nervous about showing your pictures at all. We are all rooting for you. :)

  2. This is the most relatable post. Me too on everything! I know there's more muscle there but the fat over my abs is stubborn. Regardless, you're doing things right. Keep it up!

    1. Thanks Catherine!

I hope many others can relate to this post as well. We are our worst critics. We see things that others do not. I think that has more to do with how we feel than how we actually look. Because if we feel 'fat', then we think we look 'fat' and we don't because we have been working too damn hard to look AND feel that way. I think it is hard for women because we do have to deal with that P.I.T.A. time or TOM as others like to call it. It does make us feel crappy in some way or another. AND THAT SUCKS! Because we have to deal with that each month and still stay on track, where there are days you just want to fall down on that track and do nothing. BUT we will not let that happen...we have worked too damn hard to be where we are today!
I am feeling a bit better today, I knocked out Cardio 3 this morning and increase my plank time, so other than this silly cough/cold thingy I have, I feel good.

      Take Care and Stay Strong!
